Insurance

When someone has not chosen an insurer yet, is your brand one of the names that comes back?

People who already know your brand can find you. The harder question is what happens before they have chosen an insurer, when they ask search and AI systems who to compare, who to trust, or which policy may suit their needs.

OG01 measures how your brand, products and information are understood, retrieved and selected, identifies what may be working against selection, prioritises remediation, and rescores to measure change.

Brand search
Someone searches: "your insurance brand" They have already decided who they want to investigate.
vs
Intent search
Someone asks: "which comprehensive car insurers should I compare?" The consideration set is still being formed.
OG01 measures whether your organisation is represented in that consideration set, how consistently it appears, and which competitors are being selected instead.

Why insurance is different

Insurance has a different
visibility problem.

A hotel needs to be understood as a property and selected for a stay. An insurer has a more complicated information environment. A single organisation may have multiple brands, policy categories, product pages, eligibility conditions, exclusions, claims information, support content and third-party descriptions in circulation at the same time.

The question is not simply whether your brand appears. It is whether systems understand the right organisation, retrieve the right information, distinguish one product from another, and have enough trustworthy evidence to include you when a customer is deciding what to do next.

What we measure

The four questions
OG01 measures today.

Brand Intelligence
Do AI and search systems understand who you are?
We assess how your organisation, brands, products and services are represented across the wider knowledge landscape. For complex insurance groups, that includes whether parent brands, operating brands and product categories are being understood as distinct but connected entities.
Search Intelligence
Are you visible when customers search by need rather than by brand?
We measure selection visibility and competitive positioning across the search and AI environments influencing consideration. The important question is not only whether your own name can be found. It is whether you enter the consideration set before the customer has chosen an insurer.
AI Readiness
Can systems reliably retrieve and use your information?
We evaluate whether important information is structured, accessible and clear enough for search and AI systems to retrieve and interpret reliably. That includes the technical and content signals supporting your brands, products and customer information.
AI Risk & Exposure
What is actively working against you?
We identify conflicts, ambiguity, inaccessible information, weak evidence and other signals that may reduce confidence in how your organisation is represented or selected. For insurers, this matters particularly where old, incomplete or conflicting information can remain visible outside the organisation's primary website.
Accuracy

Being visible is not enough
if the information is wrong.

Insurance is unusually sensitive to ambiguity. Product names change. Cover differs by market. Eligibility varies. Exclusions matter. Brands can sit inside larger groups. Third-party sites may describe products differently from the insurer itself.

That creates a second enterprise question: when search and AI systems describe your organisation or products, are they using the information you would want a customer to rely on? OG01 identifies where the digital evidence supporting those answers is clear, where it conflicts, and where remediation should start.

Prioritisation

What gets fixed
first matters.

Large insurance organisations do not need another dashboard handing their digital, marketing, compliance and technology teams dozens of disconnected issues. They need to know what matters, who can fix it, what should happen first, and whether the work changed the outcome.

Bucket 1
Brand and product clarity
Make the relationship between organisation, brands, products and services easier for systems to understand correctly.
Bucket 2
Retrieval and technical accessibility
Remove barriers preventing important public information from being crawled, retrieved or interpreted reliably.
Bucket 3
Information consistency and evidence
Strengthen the information and supporting evidence needed for high-intent insurance questions, while identifying conflicting or outdated representations.
Bucket 4
Owned customer path
Strengthen the path from recommendation to your official product and quote experience. When a customer is deciding which insurer to investigate, the value of being selected is greater when that recommendation leads into information and journeys the insurer controls, rather than leaving the decision dependent on aggregators, comparison sites or third-party descriptions.

Operating model

One organisation. Different teams.
One remediation programme.

Enterprise insurance remediation rarely sits with a single person. Some findings may belong to digital or SEO teams. Others may require content, product, brand, technology or governance input. OG01 provides a common measurement layer so issues can be prioritised according to impact rather than handed to teams as an undifferentiated technical list.

Assessment scope
External, read-only assessment.

No access to policy, claims or customer systems. OG01's initial assessment uses externally available digital information. It does not require access to policy administration systems, claims platforms, customer records, payment systems or other internal insurance infrastructure. The assessment measures external authority, retrieval, representation and selection signals, then identifies remediation opportunities.
